ShotEvents

Terms of sale

Translation provided for information only; the French version prevails. This document must be reviewed by a lawyer before launch. No legal review has been recorded yet.

These terms apply to every ticket order placed on ShotEvents. They supplement the terms of use and the refund policy.

1.Scope and language

These terms govern the sale of admission tickets to events offered by independent organizers through the ShotEvents platform, published by HDN BUILDING LTD (“ShotEvents”). Placing an order means that you accept these terms, the specific conditions shown on the event page and, where applicable, the venue's house rules.

The terms are written in French, which is the authoritative language. Translations are provided for information; in the event of a discrepancy, the French version prevails, without depriving consumers of the mandatory rights granted to them by the law of their country of residence.

2.Who is the seller? Role of ShotEvents

Two separate contracts are concluded when you place an order.

  1. The contract for the sale of the ticket is concluded between you and the event organizer, who is the seller. The organizer's identity (name, address, email, telephone), its status (business or not) and, for a live performance, its live performance entrepreneur receipt number appear on the event page, in the order summary, in the confirmation email and on the ticket. The organizer is solely responsible for the event: program, running of the event, safety, cancellation, postponement.
  2. ShotEvents acts as the organizer's agent (Articles 1984 et seq. of the French Civil Code) to present the offer, collect the price, issue the tickets, check admissions and provide customer service for the order. ShotEvents is not a party to the contract for the sale of the ticket.
  3. Service fees, where you bear them, pay for a service provided by ShotEvents (ticketing, payment, ticket issuance, support). They are the subject of a separate contract between you and ShotEvents, with an invoice from ShotEvents.

If the organizer is not a business (an association with no regular economic activity, or an individual), consumer law does not apply to its contract: this is stated before you order.

3.Prices, service fees and total

  • Prices are stated in euros, inclusive of all taxes where the organizer is subject to them, and are set by the organizer.
  • ShotEvents' service fees are displayed separately from the event page onward. Depending on the event, they are added to the ticket price or borne by the organizer. The total to pay, fees included, is displayed before you confirm payment.
  • A free ticket carries no service fees.
  • A valid promo code is applied before payment and the discount appears in the summary.
  • The total charged is the one calculated by our servers at the time of payment.
  • The organizer or ShotEvents provides you with an invoice or a receipt on request, in the name of the seller concerned.

4.Ordering and seat reservation

  1. You choose your tickets, then review your cart.
  2. The seats are reserved in your name for a limited time, shown in the cart. After that time, they are put back on sale.
  3. You check the order, correct any errors, and accept the terms.
  4. You pay. The order becomes final when payment is confirmed, and you receive a confirmation email.

Some tickets are subject to quantity limits, a minimum age or an access code. ShotEvents may cancel an order placed fraudulently, abusively or in breach of these limits, and refund the amounts paid.

5.Payment

Payment is made online through our payment provider Stripe, on a secure page. The available payment methods are displayed at the payment step. ShotEvents neither receives nor stores your card number. Your bank may require strong authentication (3-D Secure). No ticket is issued until payment is confirmed.

6.Electronic tickets and access control

  • Tickets are electronic. They are available in your account, can be downloaded as a PDF, and are announced by email; if the email is not delivered, your right to the ticket is not affected.
  • Each ticket carries a unique, personal QR code. Only the first scan grants entry: a copied or transferred ticket can be used to enter only once.
  • You must keep your ticket confidential. ShotEvents and the organizer are not responsible for use of a ticket by a third party to whom you have given it.
  • The organizer may refuse entry to persons who do not meet the entry conditions (minimum age, behavior, venue rules), in accordance with the conditions it displayed before the purchase.

7.Transfer and official resale

Transfer. An unused ticket may be transferred to someone you know where the organizer allows it: the recipient verifies their email address and the QR code is renewed, the previous one being deactivated.

Resale outside the platform is prohibited. Selling, offering for sale or making tickets available on a habitual basis and without the organizer's authorization is a criminal offence punishable by a fine of €15,000, increased to €30,000 for a repeat offence (Article 313-6-2 of the French Criminal Code).

Official resale on ShotEvents. Where the organizer has authorized it for its event, you can resell your ticket on the Platform. In that case:

  • the seller is an individual, not a business: you have neither a right of withdrawal nor the guarantees of consumer law against them;
  • the resale price may not exceed the cap set by the organizer (no more than 100 % of the ticket's face value, excluding service fees), displayed before the purchase;
  • the buyer receives a new ticket and the original ticket is invalidated; the buyer pays any service fees displayed before payment;
  • if the event is cancelled, the buyer is refunded in accordance with the refund policy;
  • the price is paid to the seller after the event or as otherwise displayed, through our payment provider, after their identity has been verified;
  • the seller is informed of any tax and social security obligations and given useful links to the relevant authorities.

ShotEvents may cancel, without refund, tickets resulting from an unauthorized or fraudulent resale.

8.Right of withdrawal

For contracts concluded at a distance, a consumer has in principle 14 days to withdraw (Article L. 221-18 of the French Consumer Code). However, you do not have this right when you buy a ticket for a set date, under Article L. 221-28, 12° of the French Consumer Code, which excludes contracts for leisure activity services that must be provided on a specific date or within a specific period. This information is repeated before payment.

If a ticket is not tied to a specific date or period, the 14-day right of withdrawal applies: let us know through the contact form or by the means offered in your account area.

This exclusion does not affect your rights in the event of cancellation, postponement or change of the event: see the refund policy.

9.Cancellation, postponement or change of the event

  • Cancellation: tickets are refunded, service fees included, within 14 days of your refund request.
  • Postponement: tickets remain valid for the new date; you may request a refund for 30 days from the date you are informed.
  • Major change (venue, program, headline artists): you may contact us; the request is examined together with the organizer in light of the law.

Details are set out in the refund policy.

10.Legal guarantees

Consumers benefit from the legal guarantees that apply to services and to digital content or services, in particular the legal guarantee of conformity, where the other party is a business. These guarantees are not limited by these terms.

11.Accessibility of the event

Accessibility information (access for people with reduced mobility, accommodations) is provided by the organizer on the event page. If in doubt, contact the organizer before you buy.

12.Complaints and mediation

For any complaint, write to us through the contact form, stating your order number. If the dispute continues, consumers may use the consumer mediator free of charge:

  • Mediator: CM2C (Centre de la Médiation de la Consommation de Conciliateurs de Justice) – https://www.cm2c.net – 49 rue de Ponthieu, 75008 Paris, France.

For a dispute relating to the event itself, the professional organizer will give you its own mediator on the event page.

13.Personal data

The data in your order is processed in accordance with the privacy policy. It is communicated to the organizer for the sale, the organization of the event and access control.

14.Governing law and disputes

These terms are governed by French law. Consumers may bring proceedings before the competent courts in accordance with the statutory rules, in particular those of their place of residence. A consumer residing in another Member State keeps the mandatory protection granted by the law of their country of residence.
